Pascal Technologies, a Norwegian cleantech company, is on a mission to transform maritime transport through radically more energy-efficient vessels. As pressure mounts on the shipping industry to decarbonise, Pascal is pioneering solutions that reduce drag, cut fuel use and extend the range of vessels, from planning boats to oceangoing ships, without compromising performance.
To accelerate commercialization and expand its product offering, Pascal recently secured fresh funding. Impulse supported the team throughout the process, acting as strategic and financial adviser. This included refining the investment case, developing dynamic financial models and guiding the company through due diligence and transaction execution.
The funding now enables Pascal to expand the roll out of its breakthrough AirHull® technology, which lifts high-speed boats partially out of the water using a cushion of air. The result is up to 50 per cent lower energy consumption and double the range for electric vessels. It is a major step forward for clean marine mobility.
Pascal is also advancing software and control systems that optimise air lubrication technologies for larger ships. By reducing hull friction with a controlled layer of air beneath the vessel, these systems offer scalable and practical solutions for cutting emissions and energy consumption across a wide range of vessel types. After all, the best energy is the energy not used.
This successful funding round marks an important milestone in Pascal’s journey. We are proud to have supported their team as they continue to chart a course towards cleaner and smarter maritime transport.
